FOR ALL SOULS
Author of life abundant and eternal,
we thank you for the cloud of witnesses
who make the mysterious heaven
a home for our hearts.
Before you, we remember
those faces we love
and those souls we treasure.
At radient dawn
and in the quiet of dusk:
We remember them.
Under summer skies
with farmlands shimmering:
We remember them.
Through winter's storms
and frost and snow:
We remember them.
At the return of spring
with wattles clad gold:
We remember them.
At birthdays and family celebrations,
and in the festivals of the church:
We remember them.
In the house of God
as we sing and pray;
in the trumpets of the dawn
on Easter Day;
in the Bread we break
and the Cup we take:
We remember them.

LIKE A PLOVER
God, tender and strong,
as the plover defends her young
against all benemies,
so defend me
against those nameless fears
which are my enemies.
Under your warm wings
let me take shelter
until faith and courage return.
For your love's sake. Amen.

The Bountiful God
Psalm 104
With all my being I celebrate our loving God!
My wonderful God, you are
dressed in glorious love!
You come to us as bright as the sunlight
and signal to us out of the
star-flecked sky.
You refresh us with rain, play on the tumbling clouds,
and ride on the wings of the
wind.
You were the one who first poured streams down valleys,
letting the kangaroo drink and
the cockatoo quench its thirst.
You saw the kookaburra settle in the scrub,
laughing from among the
branches,
while the mountain ash lifted high its head,
and the river gums gave resting
place to owl and parrot.

He Goes On Ahead
He meets me on the calm Coorong
as pelicans sail by.
I sense him in the Southern Cross
setting over Swan Bay.
He greest me on Mount Wellington
watching the sun come up.
I see him fossicking for hope
around a rubbish tip.
He seeks my aid at Alice Springs
with those of shattered creed.
I find him bsuking on the streets
ignored by the hard crowd.
He joins my down by Bondi Beach
eating a Chicko roll.
I feel him in my darkest night
the realest of things real.
He sings a song in Arnhem Land
inside a frescoed cave.
I see him in an old photo
taken at Anzac Cove.
He leaves his tracks of blood around
in many a situation.
I meet him in the crucial task
of reconciliation.
